This past Saturday was a day of celebration for our Tea, Coffee & Bible group (formerly Coffee & Bible). We recently renamed the group because one of our faithful attenders doesn’t drink coffee—so now everyone feels included! During our time together, A, who has been faithfully attending since the beginning, made a life-changing proclamation: he had placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior!

For those of you who have been following this journey, you know that A joined our group with little to no prior knowledge of the Bible. Week by week, as we studied Scripture—currently the Gospel of John—he asked questions, wrestled with truths, and gradually began to understand who Jesus is and what He has done for us.

One bittersweet note from this past weekend is that A’s best friend, R, was unable to join us because he has been sick. Please pray for R’s health and recovery, as we miss having him with us. Knowing the close bond these two friends share, we encouraged A to read John 3 with his friend during one of his visits this week. This chapter, which includes the beautiful truth of God’s love and the gift of salvation, could lead to significant conversations between the two of them. Please pray with us that this time together takes place and that God will use it to speak to both of their hearts.

The Journey Ahead

While we rejoice in A’s decision, we know this is just the beginning of his walk with Christ. Please pray for his continued growth as he learns what it means to follow Jesus in his daily life. Pray also for us as we disciple him and walk alongside him, answering questions and encouraging him in his faith.
