Around the world, prices have increased… inflation is something we are all experiencing. Romania is no stranger to inflation. People are talking about it more and more as it continues to increase. So many individuals are finding it harder and harder to put food on the table and to keep their homes warm.
The cost of “a bag of groceries” in 2021 was 48.97 lei… today in 2024, that same bag costs 81.09 RON.
1 kg of Chicken in 2021 was 16 lei, today it is 28.99 lei.
10 eggs (because they don’t sell them by the dozen) was 7 lei, today 17.59 lei.
1 package of flour was 4 lei, and today it is actually cheaper at 3.09 lei.
1 kg of sugar was 3 lei, and today it is 4.45 lei.
1 bottle of oil was 6.4 lei, and today it is 5.99 lei.
1 kg of tomatoes was 5.8 lei, and today it is 8.99 lei.
1 kg of potatoes was 1.77 lei, and today they cost between 3.2 – 4.9 lei.
1 bottle of juice was 5 lei, and today it cost 7.49 lei.
We are so grateful that the Lord continues to allow us to not have to worry about where our next meal will come from.
