We just received a message from one of our partners across the border in Ukraine.

We recently took some food and supplies to them, and a few days later their city was hit with a number of explosive drones. The war continues, and our brothers and sisters in Ukraine continue to minister to the needs of a lost nation.

We are grateful that our team here (UBC22) has been able to support them in their efforts to not only meet the physical needs of individuals but in sharing the Gospel with those who come through their ministry.

As they thank us, we want to thank you for your part in helping make this possible. Ultimately, we are grateful to God for supplying literally tons of food we have been able to take into Ukraine, and also for the safety we have experienced everytime we have crossed the border.

It has been interesting as I recently have spent some time studding Matthew chapter 6 as it relates to finances. As I consider God’s provisions for us as a family, I have spent the last few decades learning to trust Him. To be honest, I am still learning. Being a missionary helps force you into some situation where that trust is tested… and that trust is needed. But as I teach here in Romania, all believers need to trust the Lord.

31 “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’

32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Matthew 6:31-33

Since we have been crossing the border and supplying churches in Ukraine with food and supplies, I have to stop and ask myself do I trust God to provide what we need to help them? They need to trust Him too… so what role do we play in His provision of their needs?

I go back to verse 33, “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness…” I can’t answer for their hearts, whether or not they are trusting Him, I can’t answer for His part in providing, I can only answer for my obedience in seeking first His kingdom.

We would love for you to leave a question or comment below. It is a great way for us all to be able to better interact with what is happening overseas for His Kingdom!
